Senior Mission Critical Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for overseeing all phases of large-scale construction projects, from preconstruction planning through final owner acceptance. Serving as the primary point of contact for the project team, the SPM leads both in-house and field staff, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met. The role includes reviewing shop drawings and submittals, tracking costs, coordinating with stakeholders, and liaising with local authorities to ensure compliance with permitting and safety regulations.

Primary Duties:

  • Promote a strong safety culture on all project sites.

  • Control project costs and maintain profitability through effective construction management practices.

  • Manage field construction activities, engineering support, and other project-related operations.

  • Develop, monitor, and adjust project schedules to ensure timely completion.

  • Analyze cost reports and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

  • Assess labor requirements and coordinate with divisional management.

  • Conduct regular site inspections, addressing work quality, safety, and progress.

  • Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with project scope and specifications.

  • Administer project policies, procedures, and reporting.

  • Liaise with architects, inspectors, and owner representatives to resolve project issues.

  • Conduct safety meetings and maintain compliance with all company and regulatory procedures.

  • Oversee procurement to ensure quality materials, timely delivery, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Lead regular meetings with project teams to review progress and plan upcoming work.

  • Ensure construction equipment is maintained and utilized effectively.

  • Oversee quality control measures and documentation.

  • Uphold company core values, code of conduct, and safety standards.

  • Actively identify and report hazards, participate in inspections, and contribute to safety improvements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure project success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

  • Minimum of 10 years of construction management experience.

  • Experience managing medium to large projects ($100M+) preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of construction software such as Primavera, MS Project, Excel, and Word.

  • Experience implementing comprehensive safety plans and managing project teams effectively.

  • Knowledge of contract terms, insurance programs, and cost reporting methods.
